Quantus Weekly: Mainnet Is Live

Quantus mainnet is live.

Genesis was Wednesday, September 9, and the chain has produced over 53,000 blocks without interruption since.

When we booted up mainnet, 7,000+ GPUs immediately started mining.

The first week:

  • 2,371 daily active users in the mobile wallet on launch day
  • 11.2 TH/s average hash power, 24.4 TH/s at the peak on September 10. Renting that much GPU would cost $50K to $80K per day on average ($125K to $170K per day at the peak)
  • Cost to mine one QTC: $20 to $35 on average ($55 to $80 at the peak)
  • Difficulty rose 3,100x in the first 40 hours. Block time reached the 12-second target within 12 hours of genesis
  • 3,546 accounts, 16,463 QTC issued
  • 4,011 ZK proofs verified onchain, settling 19,248 private payouts worth 16,508 QTC
  • 11,645 transparent transfers

The only way to get QTC today is to mine it.

We understand mining is competitive right now. We have an announcement coming tomorrow on where and when QTC will be tradable.
